The first step, in the shower

Lemongrass & Ginger Sugar Scrub

Granulated sugar and poppy seeds, carried in a lemongrass-ginger oil blend that smells like it should be a dessert and isn't.

Scrub it on before you wash, not after. The exfoliant does its work first, so the shower that follows is just rinsing it away.

Scent — Zesty lemongrass and warm ginger. Bright and a little spicy, not sweet.

Why this one
  • Two sizes: 2.5 oz and 5 oz

  • Lemongrass and ginger essential oils carry the scent
  • It's emulsified, so the oils rinse clean instead of coating the tub, and it's paraben-free
  • One real caution: oils on a wet floor are slippery, so watch your footing on the way out.
Overview

Grapeseed, coconut, and baobab seed oils carry the granulated sugar and poppy seeds, with lemongrass and ginger for scent. Worked into damp skin, the sugar melts down fast and the poppy seeds catch what the sugar's already softened: elbows, heels, the backs of your knees. Rinse, and the oils are what's left: not a film, just skin that doesn't feel stripped. It's emulsified for exactly that reason, so the tub rinses as clean as your skin does.

How to use

Scoop a small amount in the shower and massage it onto damp skin in slow circles, going heavier on elbows, knees, and heels. Give it ten or fifteen seconds (the sugar dissolves as you work), then rinse. Two or three times a week is plenty, and skip it on freshly shaved skin. On the way out, go slow: the oils can leave the floor slick.

Delivery & returns

What’s in it

Sugar that dissolves, oils that stay.

Most scrubs leave you slick, then you’re wiping down the shower after. Ours is emulsified: the sugar melts as you rub, the oils rinse off clean, and the soft is what’s left.

Natural Monsuri Lemongrass Ginger Sugar Body Scrub for ultimate skin exfoliation and hydration
  • Granulated sugar

    the scrub

The exfoliant that does the work, then dissolves as you rub, so it starts coarse and finishes fine.

  • Poppy seeds

    the fine grit

The second, finer texture. They catch the rougher spots the sugar has already softened.

  • Grapeseed & baobab oils

    what stays

Light oils that ride in on the scrub and stay behind after you rinse, the reason skin feels soft, not stripped.

How it feels

Grainy going on, smooth coming off.

It starts as coarse sugar with a scatter of poppy seeds, then melts down to an oily slip as you rub. Because it’s emulsified, the oil rinses off with the water instead of leaving a slick. What stays is soft skin, not a greasy film.

Straight answer

Isn’t a sugar scrub messy and greasy?

Less than you’d think. The sugar dissolves as you work it in, so there’s nothing gritty left to sweep up, and the oils are emulsified: they rinse off with the water instead of coating the tub. What stays behind is soft skin, not a slick. One real caution: oils on a wet floor are slippery, so mind your footing on the way out.

Questions

Everything you might wonder.

Is this sugar scrub gentle enough for daily use?

Use it two or three times a week, not daily. The granulated sugar and poppy seeds do real physical exfoliation, so scrubbing every day wears skin thin instead of smoothing it. Elbows, knees, and heels can take it more often than the rest of you.

Will the oils leave my shower floor slippery?

Yes, mind your footing. Grapeseed, coconut, and baobab oils stay behind after you rinse, so the last step out of the shower is the one to be careful on. A bath mat solves it for most people.

Is it safe for sensitive skin or during pregnancy?

Grapeseed, coconut, and baobab oils carry the lemongrass and ginger, no synthetic fragrance in the mix, and it's paraben-free. Patch-test on your inner arm first if you're reactive, and check with your provider if you're pregnant or nursing.

How long does the 5 oz size last?

At two or three uses a week, the 5 oz tub runs for roughly six weeks. The 2.5 oz is really a trial size, worth trying before you commit to the bigger jar.
