Soy candle questions, answered

Soy and paraffin are different waxes, not a better-or-worse health verdict. What people notice with our coconut-soy blend is a slower, more even burn and a softer scent that fills the room without feeling sharp. Soy holds fragrance at a lower temperature, so the smell carries through the space rather than sitting right at the flame. Every Monsuri candle is hand-poured coconut-soy wax, never a paraffin blend.

Each 7oz candle burns roughly 45 hours. On the very first light, let it burn 2 to 3 hours until the melted wax reaches the edge of the glass, the full melt pool. Soy has a memory, so a partial first burn leaves a tunnel that wastes wax. After that, trim the wick to about a quarter inch before each light to keep the flame steady and the burn clean.

Reviewers tell us the throw is real, and that the scent stayed in the room after the flame was out. Coconut-soy holds fragrance well, so the smell carries across an average room without being heavy or perfumey. For the strongest throw, get a full melt pool on the first burn and light the candle in a smaller, closed room rather than an open hallway.

Use the finder above. The short version: lavender-chamomile for winding down at night, vanilla-amber or mahogany-teakwood for cozy warmth, citrus or lemongrass-mint for a brighter room, eucalyptus-peppermint when the air feels stale, rose-sandalwood for romance, and palo santo for a grounded, quiet pause. When in doubt, vanilla-amber is the one that smells like a warm room to almost everyone.

Yes, and most of our buyers are gifting. A single soy candle arrives in our botanical kraft gift box with shredded paper inside, so it is ready to give with no extra wrapping. Lavender-chamomile and vanilla-amber are the safe, near-universal picks; mahogany-teakwood reads grounded and works for anyone. Ships in 2 to 5 business days.

Hand-poured coconut-soy wax with a cotton wick, in a 7oz glass vessel. Each scent is built from real notes, not a single synthetic accord; our lavender-chamomile alone layers eight, including lemon, bergamot, jasmine, palo santo and musk. Small-batch from our warehouse in North Salt Lake, Utah. Soy burns cooler and slower than paraffin, which is part of why the scent carries the way it does.
