Start with whichever mood is missing.
Slow to get going in the morning: citrus, misted into the air near the mirror. Can't switch off at night: lavender, on the pillow or the skin right after a shower. Stuffy or just want the room to feel different: eucalyptus, straight into the shower stall.

Eucalyptus works best misted onto the shower walls before turning the water on hot. Four or five pumps is the standard dose, two or three for subtle, six to eight for a stronger hit. Spray the surfaces, never straight onto skin or into your eyes, and keep the bottle outside the shower so the label stays intact. The steam does the carrying, so the scent fills the whole stall.
Layering is allowed.
Citrus in the morning and lavender at night isn't overdoing it. They're built for opposite ends of the day, so using both just means the set is doing exactly what it's for.
