Why this one
  • Eight shower steamers to a box
  • Each is sodium bicarbonate and citric acid pressed with menthol crystals, red clay, distilled water, turmeric powder, and grapefruit, lemongrass, and tangerine essential oils
  • The red clay and turmeric are what give the tablet its warm colour
  • Shower only, not a bath bomb
  • Keep the box dry between uses.
Overview

Red clay and turmeric give this one its warm color; grapefruit, tangerine, and lemongrass essential oils give it the scent, all pressed into the same fizzing bicarbonate-and-citric-acid tablet as the rest of the lineup. Set it on the shower floor, out of the direct spray, and the water fizzes it slowly, so the citrus rises with the steam and stays in the room after you turn off the water. Eight to a box: the one to reach for on the mornings you want the shower to feel bright, not just warm.

How to use

Set one steamer on the shower floor, back corner, out of the direct stream. Turn the water warm and let the edge catch the splash. It fizzes slowly and releases the citrus scent into the steam. One steamer per shower. Keep the box dry and closed between uses so the rest stay fresh.

What’s in it

What’s pressed in.

A shower steamer is a fizzing tablet — a bicarbonate-and-citric-acid base that reacts with water, carrying the essential oil up on the steam instead of into the bath.

Sparkling Citrus Shower Steamers (8 units)
  • Grapefruit & Tangerine

    the lead

The bright citrus top the steamer opens on: grapefruit first, then a rounder tangerine.

  • Lemongrass

    the edge

A sharp, green lemongrass under the citrus, what keeps it clean instead of sweet.

  • Red Clay & Turmeric

    the base

A mineral clay and a pinch of turmeric pressed into the tablet: what gives it the warm colour and holds its shape until the water hits.

Straight answer

Are these bath bombs or shower steamers?

Shower steamers: despite the name, they live on the shower floor, not in a bath. One sits off to the side and reacts with the splash and the steam, so the citrus scent rises around you while you wash. Drop it in a bath and you’d get a small fizz and a tinted tub, nothing more. Kept out of the direct stream, one lasts the length of a normal shower.

The ritual

How to use it

  1. Floor, not the stream

Set it in a back corner of the shower floor, off to the side, so the splash reaches it but the full spray doesn’t.

  2. Let it fizz slowly

Warm water, a little at a time. It fizzes over a few minutes and lifts the citrus scent into the steam.

  3. One slow breath

Stand in the warm steam for a second and take one slow breath as the citrus comes up.

Questions

Everything you might wonder.

How is a shower steamer different from a bath bomb?

It lives on the shower floor, not the tub. Set one in a back corner, out of the direct spray, and the splash fizzes it slowly while you shower. Grapefruit, tangerine, and lemongrass ride up on the steam instead of sinking into bathwater, and the scent fills the whole bathroom fast.

Will it stain the shower floor?

The red clay and turmeric give it a warm color, but normal use rinses clean. No standing water in a shower for it to settle into.

Is it safe for sensitive skin?

It's essential oils and menthol crystals, not synthetic fragrance. Patch-test first if citrus oils or menthol tend to irritate your skin. Same goes if you're pregnant or nursing: check with your provider before use.

How many uses come in a box, and how long does one last?

Eight steamers. Kept out of the direct stream, one lasts the length of a normal shower, roughly the time it takes to wash and rinse. Keep the box closed and dry between uses so the rest hold their scent.
