For his stocking, or your shower
The one piece of coal he'll be glad to find in his stocking: a gold soap bar swirled with activated charcoal, scented with sweet orange and plumeria over amber, patchouli and vanilla.
It's cold process soap, made by hand in the USA on five plant oils and shea butter, and the lather comes up thick and creamy. The scent is hard to place on the first smell, which is half the fun of giving it.
Scent — Sweet orange and plumeria over amber, patchouli and vanilla. Warm, a little musky, hard to place.

A charcoal soap bar that looks like a present before anyone wraps it
Gobi Gold is our activated charcoal soap: a 4.5 oz cold process bar, gold with black charcoal swirled through it, made on coconut, canola, soybean, olive pomace and sunflower oils with shea butter.
Charcoal bars tend to come plain and gray. This one is gold and swirled, and the scent leads the way. The lather is creamy, it rinses clean, and skin feels clean rather than squeaky.
It suits the man who is done with sharp sports body wash, and just as well the person who keeps it for their own shower. As a gift it's an easy call: a stocking stuffer for him, a Secret Santa for the coworker you barely know, or paired with our Mahogany Teakwood candle as a small set for him.
Wet the bar and work up a lather in your hands or on a washcloth, wash, then rinse well. Between showers, keep it on a dish that drains, out of the direct spray.
Coconut Oil, Canola Oil, Soybean Oil, Shea Butter, Water, Sodium Hydroxide (Lye), Olive Pomace Oil, Sunflower Oil, Activated Charcoal, Fragrance, Colorant.
Lye is how every true soap is made: it reacts with the oils while the soap is made, and none is left in the finished bar. The scent comes from a fragrance and the gold from a colorant, both on the list. Patch-test first if your skin reacts to fragrance.
Picked & packed by hand from our North Salt Lake warehouse, usually the same business day — arriving in 2–5 business days (no express). Not quite right when it lands? Free returns within 30 days.
What’s in it
Activated charcoal is swirled through a cold process base of coconut, canola, soybean, olive pomace and sunflower oils with shea butter. A fragrance carries the orange, plumeria and amber, and a colorant gives the bar its gold.

Worked through the bar in dark ribbons: the black streaks running through the gold.
With canola, soybean, olive pomace and sunflower oils: a creamy lather that rinses clean.
A fragrance blend: bright orange and plumeria up front, amber, patchouli and vanilla underneath.
Straight answer
The base is shea butter and five plant oils, made the cold process way, and the lather comes up creamy rather than squeaky. The charcoal is swirled through for color and a little texture, not to scour. Skin differs, so use warm water rather than hot, and patch-test first if charcoal bars have left you tight before. The charcoal can mark a pale soap dish, so give the dish a rinse now and then.

The ritual
Wet the bar, work up a lather between your hands or on a washcloth, wash, and rinse well.
Orange and amber make a warm start to the day, and the bar is made for everyday washing.
Set it on a dish that drains, out of the direct spray. A dry bar lasts longer, and a quick rinse of the dish keeps the dark swirls off light grout.

Questions
Sweet orange and plumeria come first, then amber, patchouli and vanilla underneath. It's warm and a little musky, nothing like the sharp, medicinal smell people expect from a charcoal bar. The scent comes from a fragrance, not essential oils.
It's one of the easier ones. The gold-and-black bar comes in its own box and fits a stocking. For a bigger present, pair it with our Mahogany Teakwood candle: woods and leather for the room, orange and amber for the shower. You can add a gift note to the order, and the packing slip shows no prices.
The charcoal gives the bar some texture, gentler than a salt scrub. If you want real grit, the Lemon Zest Scrub bar is the one made with sea salt.
It's sold as a body bar, and that's how we suggest using it. Keep the lather away from your eyes.
It carries a fragrance and a colorant, so patch-test a small area first if your skin tends to react, and check with your provider if you're pregnant or nursing.
All true soap is made by mixing oils with lye. In a cold process bar the two react completely while the soap is made, so there's no lye left in the finished bar, just soap and the glycerin the process leaves behind.
