The earthy one in the lineup
Cedarwood up front, a green hint of tea tree behind it and patchouli underneath, in a pale bar flecked with black: the earthy one in the lineup, and the bar a man keeps for himself.
It's cold process soap, made by hand in the USA on shea butter and four plant oils, with sea salt and shavings of charcoal soap worked through it for a little texture. The lather comes up creamy and rinses clean, and the shower smells of dry wood, not candy. For the man who says he needs nothing, or for your own shelf.
Scent — Cedarwood, with a hint of tea tree and patchouli underneath. Woody and earthy, not sweet.

Cedarwood with a hint of tea tree and patchouli, woody rather than sweet
Grounded is our cedarwood tea tree soap: a 4.5 oz cold process bar, pale with black flecks, made on coconut, soybean, olive pomace and sunflower oils with shea butter.
The flecks are shavings of charcoal soap, and with the sea salt they give the lather a little texture, short of a scrub. The scent is cedarwood first, a green hint of tea tree behind it, patchouli holding it down. It smells like a wood shop, not a first-aid kit.
It suits the man who is done with sharp sports body wash, and anyone who wants a break from sweet and floral bars. As a gift it's an easy call: Father's Day, a stocking, the friend who just moved into his first place, or paired with our Mahogany Teakwood candle as a small set for him.
Wet the bar and work up a lather in your hands or on a washcloth, wash, then rinse well. Between showers, keep it on a dish that drains, out of the direct spray.
Coconut Oil, Soybean Oil, Shea Butter, Water, Sodium Hydroxide (Lye), Olive Pomace Oil, Sunflower Oil, Sea Salt, Black Soap Fragments.
Lye is how every true soap is made: it reacts with the oils while the soap is made, and none is left in the finished bar. The black fragments are shavings of a charcoal soap, and the sea salt is what gives the lather its light texture. Cedarwood and tea tree are the scent of the bar. Patch-test first if your skin reacts to scented soap.

What’s in it
Sea salt and shavings of charcoal soap are worked through a cold process base of coconut, soybean, olive pomace and sunflower oils with shea butter. The cedarwood, tea tree and patchouli are the scent, carried in the bar.

Fine sea salt and shavings of a charcoal soap, worked through the bar: the black flecks, and a light grit in the lather.
With soybean, olive pomace and sunflower oils: a creamy lather that rinses clean.
Cedar up front, a green hint of tea tree, patchouli underneath. Warm, not sweet.
Straight answer
Not in this bar. Cedarwood leads, dry and woody, and the tea tree sits behind it as a green hint rather than the sharp note you get from a bottle of the oil. Patchouli underneath keeps it warm. If you want a bar that leads with the sharp green note, the Eucalyptus Aloe bar is the one.

The ritual
Wet the bar, work up a lather between your hands or on a washcloth, wash, and rinse well. You will feel the salt and the flecks as a light texture, nothing to scrub with.
Cedar is a steady way to start the day, and the bar is made for everyday washing. It works just as well as the last shower of the night.
Set it on a dish that drains, out of the direct spray. A dry bar keeps its shape and lasts longer.

Questions
Cedarwood first: dry and woody, like a cedar chest or a wood shop. Tea tree sits behind it as a green hint, and patchouli underneath keeps it warm and earthy. It isn't sweet and it isn't medicinal.
It's built for him. Woody, earthy, nothing floral, a pale bar flecked with black that looks right on a man's shelf. It comes in its own box, so it works as a Father's Day gift or a stocking stuffer, and beside our Mahogany Teakwood candle it makes a small set for him. You can add a gift note to the order, and the packing slip shows no prices.
Shavings of a charcoal soap, worked through the bar along with sea salt. They're why the bar looks speckled, and with the salt they give the lather a little texture. The charcoal is in those flecks only; the bar itself is pale.
Lightly. The sea salt and the soap flecks give a texture you can feel, a step up from a plain bar, but not a scrub. If you want real grit for elbows and heels, the Lemon Zest Scrub bar is the one built on sea salt crystals.
It's sold as a body bar, and that's how we suggest using it; keep the lather away from your eyes. The bar is scented and carries sea salt, so patch-test a small area first if your skin tends to react, and check with your provider if you're pregnant or nursing.
All true soap is made by mixing oils with lye. In a cold process bar the two react completely while the soap is made, so there's no lye left in the finished bar, just soap and the glycerin the process leaves behind.
